Releasing OSS Tools for the Pandorabots API

Released a set of open-source tools for the API of Pandorabots, the chatbot platform provided by US-based Pandorabots, Inc.

  • pb-php — PHP API client. First released in 2014, with v2 arriving 12 years later in 2026.
  • pb-migrate — CLI tool for deploying AIML files.
  • pb-talk — A terminal REPL for interacting with Pandorabots.

These tools were built and refined over approximately 12 years of hands-on Pandorabots work. Bug reports and feature requests welcome via GitHub Issues.

Over 12 years, I had the privilege of gaining extensive experience in DevOps and development frameworks around Pandorabots. That knowledge may have been lost when the project came to an end — but if these OSS tools can be of use to someone, somewhere, when a similar project comes along again, nothing would make me happier. Update (October 20, 2026): Now on the Works page

These tools are now listed together on the site’s Works page, where you can also copy the install commands for pb-php and pb-migrate. Other software will be added there over time.

The site’s chatbot now answers questions about each tool, too. Ask with the tool’s name, such as “What is pb-php?” or “What license is pb-migrate under?”, and it tells you about that tool, including the install command and what it runs on. Note that the chatbot itself does not run on the Pandorabots service.
